Another Game of Tag

As if the blogosphere doesn't have enough to keep me from digging the garden...

Aussie John and Tony Sisk both tagged me today with the latest blog tag--5 Things I Dig About Jesus.

The plan is to identify five of the things that I appreciate, or dig, about the eternal, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, holy, righteous, pure, perfectly just, perfectly loving, creative, sovereign, invisible, incarnate, empowering, God of Everything. What can I say? "Dig" seems kind of puny next to all that, but here goes...

1. Jesus is both God and Sacrifice
2. Jesus is the Beginning and the End
3. Jesus isn’t afraid to get His hands dirty
4. Jesus loves me!!!!
5. Jesus IS (and how can I ever wrap my mind around that!)

Guess I'll have a lot more to think about as I go out to dig in the dirt.

My picks for bloggers to tag are:
Geoff
Alice Carpenter
Steve Grose
Deb at Life: The Journey
Rose at Rose's Reasonings

Please leave me a comment with your "digs" and tag someone else!

5 Things I Dig About Jesus
1. He is the Lord of Glory the King of Kings, God ominpotent, second person of the Trinity..
2. That in eternity past He deigned to take human flesh and become a man to die for sinners 1 Peter 1:18-20 For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from the fathers, not with perishable things, like silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish. 20 He was destined before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of the times for you
3. That I one of those sinners He died for.
1 Tim 1:15 This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them.
4. That He is Risen and reigns and awaits all thigns to be placed under His feet
1 Cor 15:20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the • firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 25 For He must reign until He puts all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy to be abolished is death.
5. That right now He ever liveth to make interecession.. for me!
and there is sooo much more..
thanks for the tag Kat..
1 Peter 1:8 You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy,

I think that could well become a life verse!

Tony-
Thanks for giving me something to "dig into" this morning!

Steve-
I liked your reference to I Peter 1:18-20. What a Savior--the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, the One Who owns the Book of Life!

Kat
My life verse(s):
"...And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death..." Phil. 3:9,10

Hm. Let's see. I dig that ...

1) ... there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

2) ... He's always making intercession for us. :-)

3) ... He's able to do so much more than I can even imagine (and I have a big imagination, so that's pretty awesome!).

4) ... He chose me to be His.

5) ... nothing can separate us from Him.

Debi-
I've been enjoying reading your blog--Thanks for the reply...and especially appreciate #5. What a comfort to know that He will never leave us or forsake us!

John Smulo-
So you're the guy who started all this! These memes always make me nervous because I'm not sure I have enough friends to tag :) It is a great way, though, to make some new ones.

Hey, Kat

I'm on a mission trip in New Orleans, so I'm posting "on the fly." Here are just a few short answers from the "top" of my head and the "bottom" of my heart.

Jesus is...
1. Risen! Hallelujah!
2. God become man ... He truly "walked" in our shoes.
3. Real ... there is no pretense, nothing surface or fake ... Jesus is real. And I can be real with Him.
4. Always with me. :)
5. Coming back! And I will get to serve in His holy kingdom! How cool is that?

Blessings,
Geoff

jovialiste--I think that translates roughly to "Happy One", right? :)
I'm glad you found your way to my blog from Argentina. What brought us to your attention? And, since this post is all about our understanding of Jesus, what is your perception of Him?
